This evening, skies, you are pastel blue with a wide ribbon of salmony pink. There is a white orange peeking out behind the clouds. We had a day full of thunderstorms, and now the earth smells clean.
In Idaho, the sunsets were vibrant red and orange. The canyons flamed against the backdrop of flamboyant color and the power of the land stilled my soul.
One summer evening, the cirrus clouds were edged in gold and the sky was a clear brilliant blue.
The winter sunsets were, and are, the prettiest, the scarlet of the sky throwing its afghan of light across the stark white fields, the trees bare black silhouettes.
In June, once, when I was sad with leaving, the air grew sweet and the leaves tumbled playfully around my feet, and the pinkish sky smiled goodbye.
The Pennsylvanian sunsets, the sky a calm purple and pink, with a riot of color in the hills bring back nostalgic remembrances.
My collection of sunsets, my collection of happinesses. Certainly, there are many more I did not write of. They are all precious. Sunset is my favorite color.
