sunrises and tea. building rafters and songs. airports and tears. hoodies and volleyball. pilates and laughter. excerpts of my life.

truly though, one of my frenz gave me a new idea on how to write. #excerptsfromstoriesillneverwrite.

aaaand i thought that was a truly wonderful idea ‘cause i am not the kind of person that sticks with something. and these are short term stories. i always have ideas for chapter books, but i can’t stick with them long enough. so it’s enough for me to write a paragraph about them. look it up if you aren’t quite sure what it’s about and then i double dare you to make your own and post it in the comment box below:p

it‘s rainy and windy and coolllllllld today. the leaves are plastered to the ground. i suppose that’s the best way to rake them? mab is inside, on the rug beside the door. we’re trying to teach her to stay, because i’d like her to be comfortable indoors as well as outdoors. and she’s only six and a half weeks old. i love that dog. ya’ll would love her too.

it’s thursday. thursday is another favorite of mine and this is because of the way it sounds. and when i worked at the butcher shop, it was also my favorite day to work. so it ties together somehow. it’s also not quite the weekend. i enjoy the weekend, truly i do, but my heart loves the normal humdrum week days bestest. and sometimes in the humdrum there’s extraordinaire found in small things. and everyone always says to enjoy the small things, right? i try to.

clichés. who all likes clichés. raise your hands if you do. i don’t. i hate clichés. they’re like spoiled children, knowing they are well loved, so therefore they can do anything they jolly well please.

so like i told you in the beginning about these excerpts. i will share one. or two. or sixteen million.

“Stars take only a moment to be born. Then they spend millions of years burning, dying. But in that time frame, they are viewed as constellations, they serve a purpose for love, they are written about, and they inspire many people. Be a star darling.”

“So the prince married the princess and they lived happily ever after,” said Mum.

“That’s what our fam’ly is, right Mum?”

A tear slipped down her cheek, and she turned her head so he could not see her. She quickly swiped her cheek and pasted a smile on her face.

“Yes, baby, that’s what we are.”

The book lay on her dressing table, dusty and dog-eared. He opened it and read the page it fell open on.

‘The cosmos is full of galaxies never seen, moons to be walked on, stars to be born. This earth has more adventures for you than you can ever dream of.’

He shut the book and slumped into a chair. His eyes watered, and he impatiently brushed his eyes. This was no time to sit here and think about his failures. He had to find her. His life depended on it. Without her, he could not live. She was the very air he breathed.

one more. judge not, so ye be not judged:D

The leaves fluttered to the ground, a kaleidoscope of fall. The air was chilly, almost finger numbingly cold. She kept her fingers around her coffee, and shivered. It was beautiful out here, heavenly. Although others might think that heaven did not have the autumn season, she was pretty sure her spot in heaven did. She shivered again, but not from the cold. Heaven was a depressing thought. It made her think of death. And death reminded her of her mom. And thinking of her mom created tears.

and ooooone more. haha.

The vines crept up around the building as if giving an eternal hug to an old friend. Taking a sip of her tea, she set the mug down on the gate post. She tipped her head and looked at the uppermost turret. If she thought hard enough, she could almost see the lost princess, sitting at the window gazing back out at her.

i promise to stop now. but remember, post your own in the comment box below. don’t be shy. cause i just can’t be shy when i blog. it would never work. how else would you get a peek in my brain?

happy normal humdrum thursdays to ya’ll.
