i wrote something in January for a writing chat i was on, but i never submitted it. instead, i hid it away and wrote something else. and now i will share it with you.


Answer


silently, softly, the boy

pressed the postage stamp

to the envelope.


she opened the envelope

and read the letter;

caught her breath;

smiled.


she gazed out at

the crescent hanging golden

and remembered

the red scarf she had

knitted for him.

i wanted to edit it. maybe not show it at all. but i read somewhere, when i was beginning to paint, that some things must be left unfinished. because the more you edit, the longer it takes to be done. so leave it unfinished. unfinished and open to people’s impressions.


okay. happy wednesday to everyone. be tenacious. that’s my new favorite word. it means ‘strong, or strength’.
