I walked into work this morning and beheld John at his usual spot, slicing into some pig meat.
"Good-morning," I said.
"Good-morning," said Enos heartily.
John looked at me and said,"You got new glasses, didn't you? They look real nice."
Thank you, thank you very much, John.
Over the course of one pig and three lambs, I found out what happened since Tuesday.
"They went through my arm and I wasn't fully sedated; I could feel them go in and then I saw the wire going up around in my heart on the screen," said John.
"Did you find out you have a heart after all," said Enos.
"It was even bigger than I thought it was," laughed John.
"What actually happened," I asked.
Eugene turned towards me. "He had some clogged arteries."
"They put two stents in," added John.
"And when did your wife find out about all this?"
"I called her when I got to the hospital, around 9 am. She didn't answer, so around 11 I called again, and she was out by the phone so she picked up."
John stayed at the hospital until Thursday, sometime. They want him to go back in this week to give him a heart monitor.
Now he's back at work, looking hale and hearty.
Abraham left on Monday for Bosnia and won't be back until May 27. He would move back to Bosnia if he was sure there would be no more war.
We all miss him, even if Enos pretends not to.
So far everyone has
Well if John likes them surely I will.
