First Snow

I made a pot of hot chocolate and whipped maple cream to celebrate the first snow fall of the season and my man sat and drank a mug despite his grumbling around. I'm excited. I dashed outside in my crocs to stare at the gorgeous flakes all around me and shivered in awe(and because it was cold). I just had to tell you all--this is the best ending to October and a grand hello of November.

Ah yes, November. Favorite of favorite seasons, giving white skies and icy mornings, crackling trees and empty fields, woodsmoke and lazy afternoons folding into the hills of evening. October was amazing, truly. Many happy events and some sadness, but the trees still dropped their leaves and the air still snapped and the sun still lay in silky yellow over the land and the days still shortened. Earth still turned as it always has.

And God is still God. This comforts me. People are like rivers, changing here and there, never a set personality or opinion, but God is still God and what He says still holds true. He will comfort and reprove; He will strengthen and protect; He will help and guide. He is unchanging in all change.

And God knows I wished for snow.

Thankyou.
