Hiding Behind Normal

It will be a normal day,

With a normal pink across normal snow,

A normal sun, a normal sky,

A normal shower with a normal song,

A normal cuppa joe with a normal friend,

A normal work,

A normal tired from a normal job,

A normal night routine, a normal sleep.

It will be normal.

Until it’s not.

Crawling like a worm under your skin,

A creeping rat in the cellar,

A violent ache of desire to immerse in

Velvet encased sin.

Black as night, a deep prickly forest.

Secrets covered in slime,

Cowering into the deep recesses of your mind.

It will be a normal day,

Until it’s not.

Open the iron gates wide,

Let the burning begin.

Let the flames devour the velvet encased sin,

Revealing its true moldy lewks.

The night fleeing before a blinding light,

The forest dying before your eyes.

Let the flames dry the secrets,

Their power crumbling and falling,

Petals of poison fluttering away before the wrath

Of the Almighty.

It’s a normal day, a normal cuppa joe,

A normal laugh,

A normal tired with a normal nap.

Was it normal?

Before the Wrath flung open the gates and cried,

For my glory!
