I Will Conquer You

I will conquer you,

You gleaming white machine,

Full of sharp needles and

Buttons marching across

The expansive surface.

You remind me of

A shark when it opens its mouth

And displays its teeth,

Like needles on a cushion

In a museum.

And the shark smells

Fun and flies through the water,

Irritating me, the hunter,

I stab you, you twist, I stab the water

And lose my balance.

This time I will stab you

And conquer.

I will tame you and make you

Into a domestic fish.

I will conquer you,

Your pedal controls my foot,

But I, I shall control

And I will pick the speed

With which we go.

I will conquer you,

You slinky fabric bunches,

Slyly sliding across my hands

And messing my

Concentration.

I will conquer you,

You sewing machine,

You slinky fabric and

Controlling pedal and

Sharp needles.
