Morning at the Sea

I walked along the sea this morning when the sun was just waking up.

The surface of the sea was colored in orange and pink and traced in gold.

I walked on the sand, right close to where the water lapped at the edge, and watched my foot-prints fill.

The sea-gulls screeched a good morning to me and I lifted my arms and laughed back.

The crabs scuttled underneath the driftwood littering the expanse of sand.

I thought of how sand is really just stones, polished to tiny pieces, and thought of us, the people, the crowds, how life polishes us.

I thought of how the sun rose all majestic over the sea and smiled on the earth, like the Son of God rising majestic in all His glory and smiling on us, the people, the crowds.

And the sea flows ever gentle, and laps at the edge of the sand, and fills in my foot-prints; my past filled up with the present.
