Why do endings hurt?

Nostalgia roams around and it can’t settle. I feel sad. Not crying sad, achy sad. Why do all good things have to end? We grew, though. Blossomed. And next year, we will grow too. Like sunflowers facing the sun, we opened our hearts to love and friendships. And next year, tomorrow, we will continue to face the sun.

There will be a new beginning. A new chapter.

A chance to start over. Good things will happen. I can’t promise that there won’t be any tears. No one has that ability. But I will say that God will be with you. Beside you. Holding your hand. So I say hello. Hello 2020. I’m looking forward to living this year. It will be good.
