The Dolphins Came Back

In the city of no roads,

The dolphins came back.

Where transportation

Takes only watercraft.

The people are gone, done,

Tourism is nil.

The dolphins swoosh through

The water and shriek.

If you listen very carefully,

you can hear them singing.

I love my students. They are, indeed, my entire world. Teaching is stressful and fun. My life is good. Truly good. There is smoke overhead, but the sunsets are paintings of hazy gorgeousness. A copper penny shines in the sky at noon. Today the sky was dreary and the mountains blurred in the distance. There is a small hope of rain tomorrow, and my soul sings.

Speaking of singing, we sing a lot. I am blessed with co-teachers who enjoy singing, and it sounds beautiful, if I may say so myself. Come sing with us someday.

Wishing everyone a happy, lazy Saturday.
