Work Tings

I'm in the stage of waiting so I thought I could write what I remember from work yesterday.
It was Friday, I remember. Yes, yesterday. John was trying to season the pig meat so he could magically change it into sausage. He did the classic sneeze.
"Hey," said Enos. "Did you see that thing in The Connection the other day about sneezing?"
John shook his head.
"It says if you can sneeze with your eyes open, you've drunk too much coffee. But I say if you can sneeze with your eyes open you've been seasoning meat too long."
Everyone laughed obligingly.
(Enos always laughs at his own jokes and he'll look around to see if anyone else laughs. If you're laughing, beware, you've been caught in the fake laugh loop.)
Eugene was talking.
"Are raw eggs actually healthier than cooked ones? What's missing from the cooked eggs?"
"Salmonella," I said, dryly.
"What? What did she say?" Enos said.
"She said salmonella," answered Eugene.
Enos guffawed.
Then they talked for a long time about raw eggs. This is a subject that they won't tire in. We've had this conversation many times.
John is looking good. I can't promise he won't faint again, but hopefully if he does he restricts himself to his house.
On another note, we (the youth and young couples) played softball Thursday evening. I played, too, surprisingly. Be surprised with me. I had fun. My team lost to five or ten points. It was very nice and I was barefoot until I had blocks of ice for feet. We had a fire, roasted dogs and smores, talked and sang. It was lovely.
Half of the family left for Pennsylvania this morning. It's been me and Bee, M and J. M wanted to work today. Beats me, but maybe the boy likes working on Saturday. Bee left in the afternoon for town and friends. It was just me and The J haunting the place. Now we have some friends coming over to wack spikeball. It should be a good evening.
Here's my favorite poem today:

Happy weekend. Byeeeeee.
I wonder if I’ve ever been caught in the fake laugh loop
